Intel's Regional Development Forum Attracts Key Particpants In The Form Of Sponsors, Exhibitors And Delegates

Intel's key technology event, the Middle East's first Intel Developer Forum (IDF) scheduled for May 10 in Cairo, has attracted the interest of several hundred companies from across the region. Designed to provide vital technology insights to hardware and software companies, Intel Developer Forum Cairo 2005 is sponsored by leading organisations such as Microsoft, Hewlett Packard, Dell, IBM, and Raya.
Aysegul Ildeniz, Intel’s Regional Director, stated that the company had already received an overwhelming number of registrations, bookings and corporate support from software developers, technology professionals and the business community across the region, since the event was announced in April.
“The inaugural Intel Developer Forum in the Middle East is Intel’s tribute to the immense potential of computing and communications in the region,” said Aysegul Ildeniz, Regional Director, Intel META. “Under the theme of 'Tomorrows Platforms, Your Possibilities Unleashed' the forum will encapsulate a host of digital demonstrations, multiple labs and open discussions as well as innovative demonstrations of the latest platforms.”
While the platinum sponsor for the event is Microsoft and the gold sponsor is HP, other sponsors include Moonstone as technology sponsor, Active Mania, Dell, IBM, Raya, Sakhr as silver sponsors, with Al Hayat as the media sponsor and The Way Out as Wi-Fi sponsor. "IDF Cairo presents an excellent occasion for these organisations to showcase their solutions as part of the digital transformation," says Ildeniz. Key themes to be covered at the forum are: Research and Development, Digital Enterprise, the Digital Home, Mobility and Communication Technologies, Cross-Architecture Software Development.
Frank Spindler, Vice President Intel's Sales and Marketing Group and Director of Industry Technology Programmes, will deliver the keynote address at IDF Cairo - a strategic overview of Intel's current technical direction and their latest developments. Chris Thomas, Chief Strategist, Director of Strategic Initiatives Solutions Market Development Group will speak on the trends and emerging issues that are shaping regional IT. And Shekhar Borkar,Intel Fellow and Corporate Technology Group Director, Circuit Research, will speak on Intel’s latest research and development efforts, and how these address existing user needs and possibilities for the future.
Intel Developer Forum Cairo 2005 will feature more than 200 hours of lectures, sessions and labs covering Wi-Fi and other wireless innovations, Hyper-Threading, PCI Express, InfiniBand, Gigabit Ethernet, Digital Home, security advances and mobile and modular platforms. The event is scheduled to be held at The Conrad in downtown Cairo on Tuesday 10 May.
