As the digital revolution became a reality at education institutes in the Middle East , sales of HP’s line of digital projectors also sky-rocketed by 100% during the first half of the year. A major contributing factor to this great success is the contract HP signed earlier this year to supply a full range of digital projectors to revolutionize teaching methods at Dubai Men’s College, Higher College of Technology.
“Earnings for H1 2005 by far surpassed our targets,” confirmed Amr Hassan, General Manager, Imaging and Printing Group, HP Middle East. “We attribute this success to our go-to-market strategy. Our empowered channel partners and HP sales team have successfully driven HP’s colour-in-the-office initiative thus providing businesses with integrated printing and photo-imaging solutions. On the consumer side, we have focused on photo print leadership, allowing home users to experience the best in innovative solutions and entertainment integrated into the digital lifestyle,” he added.
This year has been paved with key landmarks for the Imaging and Printing Group of HP Middle East. “Earlier this year, we launched a Technology Centre at Knowledge village in Dubai . This centre continues to train our channel partners, students and technology enthusiasts on cutting-edge solutions. HP also launched a similar Tech Centre at Smart Village in Cairo , providing hands-on experience and insight to our North African market,” Amr Hassan added.
Highlighting the global importance of the Middle East to HP Worldwide, Amr Hassan confirmed that the company at large was investing more and more on training and knowledge-sharing for HP personnel in the region.
At a select press briefing held today in Dubai, Hassan also reconfirmed that consumers’ demand for HP products was testimony to the business unit’s winning go-to-market strategy. “Our extensive Imaging and Printing portfolio has won us numerous awards including the ‘Account Representation’, ‘In-store branding”, ‘Overall branding’ and ‘Category Strength’ awards presented to us by UAE top technology outlet, Plug-Ins,” he added.
HP recently launched their Fall ’05 line of avant-garde Colour LaserJet printers, Business InkJets, DesignJets and Photosmart digital cameras as well as high-power Vivera ink solutions. The new line-up of innovative solutions will be in stores at the end of May in the Middle East .
