Roxar Launches RMSwellstrat™

Roxar announced the incorporation of its new well correlation module, RMSwellstrat™, into its industry leading 3D reservoir modeling solution, IRAP RMS™.
The announcement strengthens the IRAP RMS™ portfolio of fully integrated mapping, modeling, planning and workflow management modules. The combination of RMSwellstrat™’s sophisticated correlation tools with RMSgeoform™, Roxar’s mapping solution, provides a powerful integrated geological interpretation workflow.
RMSwellstrat™ will give the user unparalleled power and ease of use when correlating, not only reducing time spent iterating between model and interpretation, but also improving the quality of the interpretation.
RMSwellstrat™ will allow interpreters to handle complex geology and well geometries in a truly 3D environment. Users will be able to gain a better understanding of reservoir data rree by viewing well trajectories and log data in 3D alongside other important reservoir data such as seismic, fault information and existing maps.
Additional outstanding features of RMSwellstrat™ include an easy to use but powerful log calculator, which provides the flexibility for all types of log calculations and a well picks calculator, which will be able to carry out a series of stratigraphic calculations for input to forthe mapping stage of the workflow.

RMSwellstrat™’s ability to construct a consistent geological model that honors the relationships between faults and horizons in 3D space and RMSgeoform™’s easy-to-use interface and state of the art features, such as rapid surface mapping algorithms and volumetric analysis tools, provide an advanced and fully integrated mapping solution. Companies can utilize RMSwellstrat™ at any stage in the mapping process and existing well point data can be easily imported into IRAP RMS™. RMSwellstrat™ can display the well log data in 3D along with seismic data, fault information, existing maps and reservoir simulation results. - Ease of Use . RMSwellstrat™ comes with a modern interface with a tree and folder layout of the data allowing the user to become familiar with the application very quickly. A complete set of data management, grouping and sort tools allow the user to manage multiple log runs and manage thousands of wells. Curves, stratigraphy, lithology/facies, dipmeter data, drilling engineering or production data can all be displayed.
- Increased Flexibility. RMSwellstrat™ can operate as part of IRAP RMS™ or on its own, providing much-needed flexibility to the user. Old data can be converted to the well picks and data can be imported and exported with ease using a flexible import/export wizard. RMSwellstrat™ is available on all platforms.
- Log Calculator . RMSwellstrat™ includes an easy to use but powerful log calculator which provides the flexibility for all types of log calculations, including lithology predictors, porosity permeability transforms, net sand indicators and fluid estimations.
- Well Pick Calculator . As well as the log calculator, RMSwellstrat™ has a wells picks calculator which allows for a complete range of stratigraphic calculations to be carried out. Thickness calculations, such as True Vertical Thickness (TVT), True Stratigraphic Thickness (TST) or Measured Depth Thickness (MDT), can be used during the mapping stage of the workflow. The IRAP RMS™ multiview environment is also the ideal tool for generating prints or plots. Multiple pages can be added, each containing scalable 2D and 3D view types.
IRAP RMSª comprises 14 fully integrated software modules designed to help geologists, reservoir engineers and geophysicists to work together faster and more easily, to increase productivity from existing fields and to shorten the discovery-to-production lifecycle. RMSgeoformª is IRAP RMSª’s mapping module. Through structural modeling and property mapping, RMSgeoformª creates the basis for a company’s reservoir model and its fluid flow performance.
