Antech Appoints New Engineering Manager

AnTech Ltd, an engineering design and manufacturing company serving the international upstream oil and gas industries, has appointed Aziz Rashid to the position of Engineering Manager. Since 2003, AnTech’s turnover has increased by 30% each year and the number of employees has doubled. The company attributes this growth to market demand for its line of specialist coiled tubing, downhole and completion tools, including the COLT coiled tubing drilling bottom hole assembly and DAQ>W data acquisition system, as well as for its testing and certification services
In his new role, Aziz is responsible for leading the company’s growing Engineer Group to the highest standard, particularly in terms of customer satisfaction and technical competence. To achieve this, Aziz will develop standards and objectives for the group, as well as aims and strategy. He will be responsible for making certain that the group’s performance is monitored on a regular basis to ensure that it is in line with the company’s standards of excellence.
“In addition to managing the Engineer Group, Aziz will be highly instrumental in setting and overseeing the company’s product development strategy, including timely delivery of all products,” said Toni Miszewski, Managing Director of AnTech. “We will also be looking to Aziz to make certain that we continue to deliver high quality technical solutions and after-sales technical support for all customers. Given his in-depth experience in these specific areas, I have every confidence in his ability to contribute to the company’s continuing success,” he added.
With 22 years experience in the electronics and defence industries, Aziz has led a distinguished engineering career specialising in product development and overall business management. In 1983 Aziz began his career with Nortel Networks in Paignton , England as a Pr oject Manager. Throughout the 16 years that followed, he went on to work in a number of engineering, development and technical roles, eventually rising to the position of Engineering Director in charge of developing quality optical components products in 1999. For the next five years, his division successfully developed an average of 25 products per year through to the final manufactured product. Then, in 2003, Aziz co-founded Photonic Technology and Management Ltd in Torbay where he served as Director of Engineering until 2004 when he joined BAE Systems in Southampton , England as Engineering Manager. While there, he supervised the Engineering Group responsible for the design and development of detectors that operate across the IR spectrum.
Originally from Iraq Aziz, 52, holds several degrees: an MSc in Solid State Physics from the University of Leeds , a PhD in Semiconductor Physics from the University of Bath and a Post-doctoral Fellowship In Physical Chemistry from University of Exeter . He is the recipient of many Nortel Networks’ top engineering awards, including the Top Talent Award for four consecutive years, the Joint Award of Merit for Innovation DWDM and the Chairman’s Award for Excellence Technology OC192 systems. He is based in Exeter and reports directly to Toni Miszewski, Managing Director of AnTech.
