Mepo® Now Available In The Middle East

MEPO®, the reservoir optimization software from Scandpower Petroleum Technologies, has established a presence in the Gulf with a sales and support office in Dubai Internet City . Two projects using the new software have already been successfully completed for regional oil companies.
David Millar is the new Regional Sales Manager for MEPO, and Kjartan Nesse joins as Senior Reservoir Engineer. David has been based in the Middle East for several years, and was formerly General Manager of Technoguide in Dubai , where he introduced Petrel reservoir modeling software to the region. Kjartan Nesse transfers from Norway where he has been working on Assisted History Matching, uncertainty analysis and reservoir optimization issues with SPT and Hydro. They join SPT’s existing office in Dubai which already offers flow assurance consulting services and OLGA multiphase pipeline flow software.
MEPO is a framework for history matching and uncertainty analysis. Utilizing a new optimization technology, MEPO promises to dramatically reduce the time required to history-match complex reservoir simulation models, and also estimate the likely range of uncertainties in predicted production. The software has already been adopted by a number of European and US oil companies, and a number of trials in the Middle East are now underway.
