Pakistan has signed a $2.5 billion gas pipeline project with Iran . The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Pakistan’s Petroleum and Natural Resources Minister Amanullah Khan Jadoon and Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namadar Zanganeh will allow gas from Iran to be carried to Pakistan and India.

Zanganeh said that Iran would take all-possible steps to complete formalities on fast track to ensure that the project becomes reality in shortest possible time. All the paper works are expected to be completed by April 2006.
