Indonesia Wins Contract To Transport LNG

British Petroleum Berau Limited has granted PT Samudera Shipping Service a contract to transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) from its LNG plant in Tangguh, Papua. British Petroleum Berau, a subsidiary of BP Plc, the operator of the Tangguh gas field, is building an LNG plant in that area to be operational in 2007.
Samudera Shipping, a subsidiary of publicly-listed PT Samudera Indonesia , joins NYK and Sovcomflot in a consortium to win the contract. The consortium will transport LNG exports from Tangguh to Gwangyang , South Korea and Costa Azul, Baja in California .
