BJ appoints new technical manager

BJ Services has appointed James Curtis as the new technical manager of the Well Services Division - Europe & Africa Region.
Curtis, who brings 16 years experience in the oil industry, is responsible  for providing technically sound and commercially viable solutions for the upstream sector throughout the Europe/Africa Region in the areas of production enhancement, reservoir conformance, coiled tubing, sand control, zonal isolation and completion services.
Prior to this appointment, Curtis worked for BJ Services for two years in Rio de Janeiro as Latin America region technical manager. Previously, he served for thirteen years in a number of technical, marketing and management positions throughout South America and Canada.
Curtis, 37, holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Petroleum Engineering from University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta. He is currently a Technical Editor of the SPE Production & FacilitiesJournal and serves on the Programme Committee of the SPE Aberdeen Section.

Curtis is based at the BJ Services Europe & Africa Region headquarters in Aberdeen, Scotland and reports to Alasdair Buchanan.
