PSL appoints former HSE chief as QHSE director

PSL Energy Services Ltd has appointed Tim Ingram as Corporate QHSE Director, taking responsibility for UK and international QHSE functions.

Mr Ingram joins the Aberdeen-based oil and gas services specialists from the Health & Safety Executive where he was HM Pr incipal Inspector of Health & Safety.

Mr Ingram has 25 years experience of UK pipeline and installation operations in both technical and managerial roles, having worked for Marathon Oil and Texaco before joining HSE in 1992.

At HSE Mr Ingram was a specialist inspector of pipelines before promotion in 1997 to head up HSE’s regulation of onshore and offshore pipelines and gas facilities throughout Scotland .

He was responsible for the technical and operational management of the team’s statutory and proactive assessment of engineering design proposals, safety and quality management systems and reactive investigation work.

While at HSE Mr Ingram worked alongside the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority on trans-median pipeline integrity and safety matters and has worked closely with the DTI on various pipeline integrity, decommissioning and environmental impact issues.

Mr Ingram’s appointment is designed to further strengthen the PSL management team and to enhance the company’s QHSE focus.

PSL managing director, Doug Duguid, said: “Tim brings with him an expert knowledge of all QHSE issues and a vast experience of how they are applied to the oil and gas industry.

“As our company has grown from 200 employees just two years ago to more than 550 at present we have remained focussed on ensuring our QHSE capabilities are second to none.

In 2004 PSL won the Health, Safety and Environment Award in the Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards in recognition of their excellent health and safety record and ground-breaking initiatives.
