RasGas names three more LNG Ships

RasGas announced that it has named three more of its long term charter ships with two ship owning consortia.
The first two ships, owned by theJapaneseConsortium of ship owners (MOL, NYK, K-Line)and Qatar Shipping were named in Samsung Shipyard on the 14 th September 2005 . The ships have an LNG cargo carrying capacity of 145,000 m 3 and will be delivered into RasGas service in October and December 2005.
The ships, named Al Thakhira and Al Deebelwill become the fourth and fifth ship to join the expanding RasGas Fleet. The other three Lusail, Fuwairit and Maersk Ras Laffan.
The third ship, owned by Maran Gas Maritime Inc. and Qatar Gas Transport Company is the first and largest LNG carrier to go into RasGas long term. It is scheduled for delivery on 31October 2005.
Under the terms of the Time Charter Agreements, RasGas will charter these vessels for a firm period of 20-25years years to deliver LNG from existing and future facilities at Ras Laffan Industrial City to its growing portfolio of customers around the world.
