Posted: 7 March 2003
London — An international recruitment initiative
for the upstream E&P industry will be held at the Eastern Hemisphere's
premier oil and gas show, Offshore Europe 2003, to help bring workers
and employers together in a one-stop job shop.
The Offshore Europe Partnership, a joint venture between Spearhead
Exhibitions and the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), and Worldwideworker,
an international oil and gas recruitment company, announced the
debut of Oilcareerfair.com at OE 2003 in Aberdeen.
The Oilcareerfair will be an international recruitment initiative
staged alongside the world-renowned exhibition and conference. The
joint initiative provides an online forum (www.oilcareerfair.com)
in conjunction with an on-site career fair at OE 2003, which will
be held between 2–5 September 2003 in Aberdeen, Scotland.
The website features areas for both job candidates and participating
companies who are seeking qualified oil and gas professionals –
all in a streamlined process. During the on-site career fair, candidates
and recruiters can meet in person.
On-site Meetings For Career Openings
Job candidates can view career openings posted online by the participating
companies, apply for posted positions, and deliver their resumes
to the companies of their choice.
Companies can pre-select candidates before the conference and set
up meetings at the career fair. Furthermore the 25,000+ visitors
to Offshore Europe 2003 from all over the world will guarantee an
excellent candidate base for a recruitment event at the show.
“This is an easy way to apply for a job position with an
excellent audience of top oilfield companies,” said Frederik
Rengers, Vice President of Business Development for Worldwideworker.
He continued: “We are very happy to bring the Oilcareerfair
to Europe this year, after the huge success of Oilcareerfair in
October 2002, during the SPE’s Annual Conference in San Antonio,
US.”
The oil and gas career site allows industry professionals to upload
their resumes and apply for jobs online. Participating companies
can fill their vacancies either by listing them on the site, or
by searching the resume bank for particular skill sets. Worldwideworker
currently has more than 42,000 oil and gas professionals from around
the globe using its services.
Nik Rudge, Sales & Marketing Director of Offshore Europe, said:
“Both SPE and Spearhead Exhibitions are very happy to bring
an international recruitment event to Offshore Europe”. He
continued: “It represents an additional service to our visitors
and to our exhibiting companies, who can leverage their presence
at the largest oil and gas show in Europe to recruit skilled professionals.”
