New 54 Mbps XLerator Technology provides data throughput
rates comparable to competitors’ pre-standard 802.11g products
with better security features and value
Dubai, UAE — U.S. Robotics 22 Mbps wireless
networking products now provide users with data throughput equivalent
to pre-standard 802.11g equipment.
U.S. Robotics new 54 Mbps XLerator Technology, the company’s
latest development firmware upgrade and driver update, is available
now for a free download to existing U.S. Robotics 22 Mbps customers
in the Middle East and other parts of the world at http://www.usr.com/4xfaster.
According to Kevin Goulet, director of product management for U.S.
Robotics, “Installation is quick and easy. U.S. Robotics 54
Mbps XLerator Technology allows users to reach data throughput rates
comparable to 54 Mbps draft standard wireless products at the affordable
price of our most popular 22 Mbps Wi-Fi devices.” He added,
“Our 22 Mbps family also offers 256-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy
for an enhanced level of security and up to 30 percent greater range
that’s not available with other wireless networking equipment.”
“In recent tests, U.S. Robotics new firmware upgrade actually
surpassed the connectivity of other suppliers’ 802.11g variants,”
said Lonny Paul, director of eCommerce, Tiger Direct. “Surpassing
the speed achieved with ‘g’ devices was too easy—just
install U.S. Robotics 54 Mbps XLerator and voila!”
Through the optimization of software and a driver update, U.S.
Robotics is providing the fastest wireless speeds available today
in the 802.11b product range.
This feature enhancement increases productivity by allowing faster
file transfers between multiple network users. Based on advanced
802.11b silicon chip technology from Texas Instruments, U.S. Robotics
22 Mbps product family remains fully compatible with standard 802.11b
Wi-Fi devices and interoperable with 802.11g equipment.
U.S. Robotics’ 22 Mbps wireless networking suite includes
products designed for quick and easy installation and allows users
to securely share Internet access, files and printers. The products
are capable of networking multiple PCs without the hassle of running
cables or wires, expanding an existing 802.11b wireless local area
network (LAN) or creating a new wireless LAN.
The following U.S. Robotics 22 Mbps wireless networking equipment
will offer the firmware upgrade and driver update:
- USR2249 – U.S. Robotics 22 Mbps Wireless
Access Point enables users to wirelessly connect to the Internet
and securely share files and peripherals with multiple users when
combined with U.S. Robotics 22 Mbps PC Cards or PCI Adapters.
Firmware upgrade and driver update available now worldwide.
