introduces new Bubble Jet i-Series

Fast, stylish and affordable
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia — Canon, a world leader
in imaging technology, is pleased to announce the launch of two
models in its new i-series of Bubble Jet printers.
The Canon Bubble Jet i320 is a 2400 dpi printer with outstanding
photo print quality, featuring a new industrial design smaller and
more robust than its predecessor (the BJ S300).
Aimed at home users, this printer strengthens Canon's presence
in the entry-level market segment.
Also new is the Bubble Jet i550, which supersedes the award winning
Bubble Jet S520 and supports USB 2.0 Full Speed. Mono printing performance
has been improved by 29 per cent, with speeds of up to 18ppm in
mono and 11ppm colour.
Featuring an ultra modern design, the sleek new i550 is 20% smaller
and offers 50 per cent improved sheet feeder capacity of up to 150
pages.
These printers include Canon's advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology
to give the highest control of ink in terms of accurate dot placement,
dot shape and dot density.
Delivering 5pl permanent size ink droplets through the use of High
Colour inks, the i320 and i550 produce clear, crisp prints and high
quality photos.
Digital Imaging Features
The i320 features 4"x6" borderless printing with its design
incorporating a sponge in the platen of the printer to absorb excess
ink when printing edge-to-edge. This is the only printer in its
class* to allow full bleed photographs with no white border. For
the first time, Canon Easy-PhotoPrint software is included. This
software improves the quality of Exif Print (Exif 2.2) compliant
digital camera images for more natural looking photo prints.
Easy-PhotoPrint also makes borderless printing simple and easy.
Exif Print compatible digital cameras record the camera setting
data to the image file when the image is captured. By utilising
this information at the print stage, the quality of digital photos
is significantly improved. Exif is an open standard supported by
many digital camera and printer manufacturers.
Performance and Quality
Printing at up to 10ppm in mono and 7ppm in colour, the i320 offers
strong out-of-the-box performance. With 2400x1200dpi resolution
and a high-resolution print head the i320 offers not just speed,
but speed and high print quality together.
In the i550, Advanced MicroFine Droplet Technology achieves professional
quality 4800x1200dpi resolution and permanent 5pl ink droplets ensuring
superb print quality in all modes.
Print quality is further enhanced via an advanced process control
system that optimises dot placement and ink loading.
This reduces graininess and improves colour depth, especially important
when printing photographs.
