  Emdad signs agency agreement with Atwood Oceanics

Emdad, the leading solutions provider to the energy sector in the region, has entered into an exclusive agency agreement for the UAE territory with Atwood Oceanics, enabling it to offer Atwood’s proven quality drilling expertise to oil companies in the Middle East.

Atwood Oceanics Inc and its subsidiaries is an internationally reputed group engaged in offshore drilling and related support as well as management and consulting services.

Atwood has over three decades of excellence and expertise handling drilling operations in most major offshore exploration areas including the Middle East, Southeast Asia, Australia West Africa and the Americas. The company was recognized by Forbes magazine as one of the 200 Best Small Companies in 2001.

Atwood is currently about to complete building an offshore jack-up rig called the Atwood Beacon.

The Atwood Beacon will be built to work in up to 400 feet of water and will include a 70 foot cantilever, accommodation for 112, three 2,200 horsepower mud pumps, 7,500 psi high pressure mud system, 7,500 kip variable deck load, 1,500 kip allowable hook load and a self-positioning fixation system.

The Atwood Beacon will be an ultra-premium, world-class rig with excellent operating qualifications that will enable Atwood to provide a safe, efficient drilling service under any challenging condition.

Emdad has a creditable performance record of over two decades in the UAE and plans to utilise its rich and varied experience in the industry to expand its presence across the entire Middle East.
