Cisco unveils latest mobility innovations to enhance productivity,
efficiency and customer service
Jeddah, KSA — Cisco Systems today unveiled
a new mobile vision for Saudi industry.
Presenting its latest mobility solutions, including wireless Internet
access and IP Telephony, Cisco discussed the rationale for investments
in Internet business solutions that increase efficiency and productivity
within the workplace.
Cisco’s regional manager for Saudi Arabia, Dr Marwan Al Ahmadi,
also demonstrated how customer service and management tasks can
be enhanced by increasing the connectivity of senior executives.
“Connecting a business to the Internet is the first step
in improving performance,” said Dr Marwan Al Ahmadi, regional
manager for Cisco Systems in Saudi Arabia.
“The next stage is to provide staff with the freedom to complete
essential tasks whilst maintaining contact with central resources,
management and customers. Our mobility solutions have been designed
with this objective in mind and can provide significant return on
investment for companies of all sizes.”
On display at Cisco’s offices were the Cisco Aironet Wireless
Local Area Network solutions (WLANs), which provide high performance,
secure, manageable, and reliable network connectivity for laptops
and PDAs.
During a presentation, Dr Marwan discussed results from independent
research which revealed that companies with small numbers of staff
can realize returns on their investment in WLAN technology in as
little as four weeks. This is achieved by increasing each employee’s
productivity by up to sixty minutes a day .
Dr Marwan also presented the Cisco 7920 Wireless phone which was
launched globally today. The easy-to-use Cisco 7920 provides employees
in hospitals, warehouses, retail stores, universities and other
highly mobile work environments with reliable access to Cisco IP
Communications systems, anywhere in the workplace at anytime.
The phone operates seamlessly over intelligent IP network infrastructure
with Cisco Aironet Series IEEE 802.11b compliant wireless access
points.
Dr Marwan explained: “The Cisco 7920 forms an important part
of our IP Communications portfolio and is a testament to the company’s
continuing investment in research and development. Each of our innovations
has a clear and consistent objective — to extend both technology
innovation and leadership to our customers around the world.”
