makes Macedonian connection
Posted: 15 May 2003
LONDON — Schlumberger, a global technology
services company, announced that SchlumbergerSema, its information
technology business segment, has successfully completed the implementation
of its new customer care and billing solution for the Macedonian
operator, Mobimak.
Mobimak selected the SchlumbergerSema BSCS 7.0 solution with AAE
(Auto Action Engine) to support the growing number of subscribers
for its mobile services in the region.
SchlumbergerSema provided overall project management, consulting
and systems integration expertise to successfully complete the implementation
of the project within a tight 6-month time frame.
The project involved a major overhaul of infrastructure at Mobimak,
including a new hardware platform and mediation system.
In addition, SchlumbergerSema integrated the BSCS 7.0 solution
with Mobimak's legacy collection systems and SAP R3 package and
provided technical support for the migration of all customer, tariff
and promotional data onto the new system.
The BSCS 7.0 solution incorporates a range of innovative functionalities
to improve business processes and provide instant access to all
customer-related information.
Key features include prepaid and postpaid integration capabilities,
flexible and real-time rating for content services, revenue sharing
capabilities for content and usage-based services, enhanced virtual
private network support and mobile number portability.
Mobimak will also benefit from the open architecture of the solution
and new roaming facilities.
"The BSCS 7.0 solution from SchlumbergerSema provided all
the key features we were looking for in a billing and customer care
system," said Dusko Kantardziev, CIO, Mobimak. "We needed
a high level of flexibility and the scalability to boost performance
and support the ongoing implementation of new services as our subscriber
base expands. The rapid time to market of the system, flexible customer
profiling and the option to incorporate other promotions into our
billing system will also be invaluable."
"Mobimak has laid out ambitious plans to roll out rich content
and GPRS services to its customers by the end of 2003, and the BSCS
7.0 solution provides the all key features to support this expansion,"
commented Jens Troetscher, vice president, business support solution,
Telecom, SchlumbergerSema. "This project demonstrates our ability
to deliver top quality billing solutions in the shortest time possible."
With more than 20 years telecommunications experience and serving
over 350 operators worldwide, SchlumbergerSema provides consulting
and systems integration services, along with a strong set of business
and operational solutions to the industry.
