Black
& Veatch's Gas, Oil and Chemicals signs VECO MoU
Posted: 23 May 2003
Black & Veatch’s Gas, Oil and Chemicals (GOC) Division
announced today that it has signed a memorandum of understanding
(MOU) with VECO Canada Ltd., a multinational engineering, procurement
and construction services provider to the energy, resource and process
industries.
The exclusive agreement will allow VECO to offer Black & Veatch’s
proprietary sulfur recovery and gas processing technologies in the
Canadian marketplace.
“Black & Veatch’s international reputation in the
sulfur recovery and gas processing fields was a major factor for
our selection by VECO,” said Rob Mortko, Black & Veatch
GOC vice president of technology. “This MOU is a win-win for
both companies, and it solidifies Black & Veatch’s reputation
as the preferred technology provider in the process industry.”
Black & Veatch’s proprietary technologies covered by
the MOU include its line of sulfur recovery options as well as its
gas processing technologies, encompassing the PRICO Natural Gas
Liquefaction (LNG) process, the PRO-MAX Liquefied Petroleum Gas
(LPG) recovery process and related LNG technologies.
“The sulfur recovery and gas processing markets in Canada
are expected to be quite robust in the near term,” said Geza
Szabo, VECO senior vice president. “Through Black & Veatch’s
technology leadership and VECO’s established presence in Canada,
this MOU will provide value to both companies as well as to our
customers.”
“As VECO pursues and secures process industry engineering
and construction projects in Canada, we will take pride in knowing
that Black & Veatch’s proprietary technologies are helping
improve the environment, enhance plant operability and augment life
cycle costs for process plants in the region,” said Mortko.
