EMDAD agreement with Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering

Posted: 1 June 2003

Emdad, the leading solutions providers to the energy sector in the region, has entered into an exclusive agency agreement for the UAE, with Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering Sdn. Bhd, Malaysia’s premier engineering and shipyard corporation.

The agency agreement enables Emdad to provide its customers in the region with heavy wall vessels and columns, air-cooled heat exchangers as well as chemical and demulsifier injection skids.

Malaysia Shipyard and Engineering, although associated mainly with ship industry in the initial years, MSE has since diversified in to other areas, including heavy engineering works for onshore and offshore projects.

The Engineering works Division forms an integral part of the MSE but operates independently with separate facilities complimented by other company’s workshop and facilities. MSE was a government JV outfit until it was privatized in 1991.

MSE is an ISO 9001/9002 accredited organization and is qualified for ASME stamp (U2, U, PP, S, A).

MSE’s key strengths are: close location to UAE market, one of the largest heavy industry facilities in the Far East and it’s fully developed sea-front with load out facilities for heavy lifts.

Some of MSE prestigious clients include Qatar Gas, Petronas, Petrobras, Exxon Mobile, Shell, Chevron and Occidental Petroleum.

EMDAD has a creditable performance record of over two decades in the UAE and plans to utilize its rich and varied experience in the industry to expand its presence across the entire Middle East.

“We are an institution with an impressive shareholder base with the advantage of location, excellent relationships with the growing energy sector and an effective infrastructure to support them with true state- of-the-art solutions. We are focusing on strategic alliances with more international companies to enable the region’s energy market with the latest technologies” observes Hasan Ali Darwish, EMDAD Vice Chairman.
