Vena Valve to be launced at OGA 2003
Posted: 23 June 2003
Offshore-CPI Supply Sdn. Bhd., an engineering company with over
18 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, will be launching
the Vena Conical Gate Valve for the first time in Asia at the Asian
Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Engineering exhibition, Oil & Gas
Asia 2003 (OGA 2003).
According to Mr. Lim Cheng Jeen, general manager of Offshore-CPI
Supply, the company expects this revolutionary valve to eventually
replace existing gate, globe and ball configuration for users with
seat leakage and flow turbulence wear problems commonly inherent
in the design of these valves.
This self-diagnosable valve offers an innovative design engineered
to operate in high pressure (regardless of differential pressure
drop across the seats in closed position which is essential for
certain valve to maintain leak-free seal ), excessive temperature
and high volumetric flow applications, and where corrosion resistance
is a concern. Other unique features include high durability, reliability
and low torque to operate thereby eliminating the need of huge and
expensive actuators, and certification to meet API 607 Rev. 4 requirements
in fire safe applications.
Lim added that in addition to the Vena valve, a variety of other
state-of-the-art components for process control systems related
to level, pressure, temperature and flow as well as metering systems
will be displayed at the OGA 2003.
“We are also targeting the region namely the Asean member
countries as we foresee a huge potential for our products running
into tens of millions USD” said Lim.
Hence, the company has set-up an office in Singapore which handles
its operation in the region.
Offshore-CPI Supply is among 500 exhibitors from 30 countries taking
part in this four-day exhibition to be held at the MINES International
Exhibition Centre from July 14-17, 2003.
Organised by Malaysian Exhibition Services Sdn. Bhd. (MES), with
the firm support of PETRONAS, the event will be officiated by Prime
Minister, Datuk Seri Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
OGA 2003 has also attracted the participation of five country groups
from Australia, Italy, Norway, United Kingdom and United States
of America. It is expected to draw more than 11,000 trade visitors.
PERTAMINA (Indonesian State Oil and Gas Company), PETROVietnam (Vietnam
National Oil Company) and PNOC (Philippine National Oil Company)
will also be taking part at OGA 2003 alongside PETRONAS.
The Government of Malaysia, PETRONAS, SIRIM and the Malaysia External
Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) remain strong supporters
of the exhibition. PETRONAS’ vendors are also among the participants
of the exhibition, taking part for the first time.
