The occasion was attended by representatives from the Alba, Bechtel
and A.A.Nass Senior Management Team who joined together to witness
one of the most important milestones in the construction of the
Line 5 Project, the largest expansion project currently in the region.
The pouring of the first concrete on the Line 5 site is a major
milestone for this project as it marks the beginning of the construction
phase of the Reduction-Rooms of Line 5.
In addition, this event marks the timely progress of the Line 5
project since its initial stages of development and indicates the
speed and efficiency at which the expansion has been proceeding
in order to meet the target schedule.
“We are extremely happy to be witnessing the first concrete
pouring on the Line 5 site as this highlights our success in meeting
the time constraints placed on us” explained Huma Assiri,
Civil Engineering Manager of the Line 5 Project.
“This occasion stands testimony to the effectiveness of the
project management tools currently being used to track and measure
the performance in all areas of the Line 5 Project as it is the
efficient combination of these management techniques which have
ensured that the project is proceeding to schedule and within the
assigned budget” continued Assiri.
For his part, Niall O’Byrne, General Manager of the Line
5 Expansion Project commented ” We are pleased to see that
this expansion project, scheduled for completion in early 2005,
has been progressing with speed and efficiency. We are confident
that as the project continues to develop the local community will
become increasingly aware of the socio-economic benefits resulting
from this expansion in terms of greater employment opportunities
and a further contribution to the national economy ”
