Posted: 26 June 2003
DNV has signed a contract with Hyundai Heavy Industry, Korea (HHI)
to provide supplier quality surveillance (SQS) services relating
to topside equipment and components for the Kizomba B Floating,
Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel.
The scope of the contract includes the quality surveillance of
the large machinery, such as heavy-duty gas turbines, compressors
and injection pumps that makes up various production system packages
on the FPSO.
The quality surveillance work will be carried out globally at all
of the sub-suppliers' facilities on behalf of HHI.
Kizomba B is a large and complex oil development project offshore
Angola. The FPSO is scheduled to be delivered and installed in the
Kizomba field offshore Angola in 2005.
DNV has previously signed classification contracts for the Kizomba
A and Kizomba B Tension Leg Platforms and FPSOs.
Work on this new contract has already started and will last for
approximately 12 months.
