Schlumberger
completes loan Portal for Ariane Crédit
Posted: 1 July 2003
SchlumbergerSema, the information technology business segment of
Schlumberger Limited, announced it has designed and developed the
first-ever banking loan Internet portal, Ari@ne-Online, for Ariane
Crédit, a subsidiary of three Regional Offices of the Crédit
Agricole bank.
This portal enables customers to access comprehensive, up-to-the-minute
bank loan information and securely obtain a bank loan on-line. Ariane
Crédit currently manages more than 5 million loans worth
60-billion Euros in outstanding debts.
The new portal also will allow bank staff to access training modules
and materials on-line at over 1300 terminals for use by more than
6000 agents for training purposes by simulating different scenarios.
"Our aim was to improve response time to customer requests,
increase productivity of our employees and reduce operating costs,"
explained Marc Balas, director of Ariane Crédit.
"It was an ambitious project, as the portal had to be designed
in compliance with the Crédit Agricole technology standards.
SchlumbergerSema provided the consulting and systems integration
services to successfully complete the project in record time."
Key requirements of the project included maximizing the existing
functionality and technology already in place with Ariane Crédit;
making the screens more user friendly and providing an architecture
that would allow multiple access, so the technology could be used
with different browsers and in conjunction with the Internet or
the Extranet; maintain compatibility with Microsoft Windows, Unix,
Linux, and OS2 server environments*.
Competitive advantage through improved efficiency and reduced
operating costs
Since the end of 2002, Ari@ne-Online has been successfully
installed in the pilot office of the Crédit Agricole Group
in the Savoie region. The portal is user friendly and provides numerous
benefits:
- Multi-channel access and data sharing: now customers can choose
between various access methods -- the traditional Branch channel,
the expert instruction network, and direct Internet access allowing
them to perform their own simulations of credit consumption. Thanks
to the shared databases, all the agents can access files that
are updated in real-time on the Intranet.
- Parameter setting facilities, according to the specificity of
the markets and the regional commercial strategies, will improve
efficiency in file instruction and decision-making.
- Reduced operating costs, thanks to the centralization of the
servers at the Regional Offices.
"We completed the project in less than one year," commented
Thierry Pilenko, director of SchlumbergerSema France, Belgium and
Switzerland.
"Ari@ne-Online has since been adopted by three Regional Offices,
and is being rolled out to 5000 users in 800 local branches.
"The Regional Offices of the Crédit Agricole that use
Ariane have a major advantage over the competition, and many banks
will soon be following their example."
