CB&I unveils new identity
Posted: 9 July 2003
CB&I introduces a new corporate brand identity to better
reflect its expanded capabilities and global presence
"Since 1889 CB&I has been a trusted name in the engineering
and construction industry," said Gerald M. Glenn, Chairman,
President and CEO.
"In recent years CB&I has evolved into a full-scope engineering,
procurement and construction (EPC) contractor serving a variety
of markets around the world. With our successful integration of
Howe-Baker International and other strategic acquisitions, we now
provide a more comprehensive range of capabilities and solutions,
including complete responsibility for the design and installation
of process plants in the refining, petrochemical, natural gas and
chemical industries. As a result, it's appropriate to update our
brand identity to help our customers, investors, employees and partners
better recognize what the new CB&I stands for and the enhanced
value we now deliver."
Under its new brand identity, the Company will transition from
its current multiple brands to a master brand architecture that
further emphasizes "CB&I", the Company's acronym that
has been in widespread use since the early 1900s.
To mark this change CB&I introduced today an updated master
brand logo that retains the shape of its logos since the 1950s,
but incorporates a stylized globe and updated graphics to denote
the Company's worldwide coverage and focus on the future.
The segments of CB&I that primarily provide services or equipment
for process plants will be grouped under the name "CB&I
Process & Technology" and will use a variation of CB&I's
new logo to visually identify their market focus.
The remaining CB&I business units that provide storage facilities
and other services will be branded using the master CB&I logo.
As part of introducing this new brand identity, the Company also
revised its primary website address to be "www.CBIepc.com",
highlighting both the Company's turnkey EPC contracting approach
and the CB&I brand.
"While our new identity further emphasizes the well-known
abbreviated name of CB&I, we continue to build on the rich legacy
of innovation and excellence that has made our Company consistently
successful for nearly 114 years," Glenn added. "We have
not changed our long-standing commitment to safety, quality, integrity
and value, nor our unique project execution model which allows us
to deliver projects from conception through commissioning on a lump-sum
turnkey basis using our own integrated resources. With its emphasis
on the global breadth of our capabilities and expertise, we believe
our new brand identity presents a clearer message of CB&I's
reliable EPC solutions for customers worldwide."
CB&I is a global specialty engineering, procurement and construction
(EPC) company serving customers in several primary end markets,
including hydrocarbon refining, natural gas, water and the energy
section in general.
The company offers a complete package of design, engineering, fabrication,
procurement, construction and maintenance services. Projects include
hydrocarbon processing plants, LNG terminals and peak shaving plants,
bulk liquid terminals, water storage and treatment facilities, and
