Catch a new wave of technology with HP Middle East
Posted: 13 July 2003
HP announced today at its ‘Catch the Wave’ event in
Fujairah, that was held under the patronage of the Deputy Ruler
of Fujairah, Sheikh Hamed bin Seif Al Sharki, over 40 new imaging
and printing products for consumer and business customers.
This highly successful event, which has touched down in over 13
countries in HPs International Sales Europe (ISE) region of 150
countries, aims to provide an overview of the latest imaging and
printing technology.
Also attending the two-day event are several ISE Imaging and Printing
Executives including worldwide and EMEA product managers, Giles
Davidson, ISE Consumer Sales & Category Manager and Fritz Abraschek,
Supplies Business Manager.
HP will be presenting the overall strategy for the Imaging and
Printing Group (IPG), highlighting the specific benefits of new
products and taking an in-depth look at the importance of consumables.
On display during the event will be the full range of IPG products
for business and consumer customers, as well as several products
from the Personal Systems Group (PSG), including the Tablet PC and
latest iPAQs.
“The Middle East is a very important region to HP and therefore
it is essential that our customers and partners familiarise with,
and experience our new products and solutions — and what better
way then through information sharing in an open forum,” said
Amr Hassan, general manager of HP IPG Middle East.
“Within the Imaging and Printing group, HP has leading industry
expertise, market knowledge and innovative products and we intend
to continue to be the industry driver by listening to our customers
and partners at events like this.”
Fujairah was chosen to hold the Middle Eastern leg of the tour
because of its relaxing qualities and calming environment.
This has been seen as a popular choice as more than 80 Channel
partners and 40 Corporate Customers around the region, from a variety
of industries, including government, oil & gas and manufacturing
are attending the event.
HP's IPG business unit includes commercial and consumer imaging
and printing devices, hardware, and publishing systems.
The business group aims to build services capabilities through
consulting and integration, managed services and outsourcing, and
break-fix services, in order to support some of the Group's overall
customer strategies — improving workflow and productivity;
helping businesses become more efficient by enabling business-critical
document management; and helping customers succeed in the marketing
collateral space through new offerings in its commercial digital
press line.
