Halliburton Energy Services, a business unit of Halliburton, through
its fully owned subsidiary in Brazil, has been awarded a contract
by Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. for a well stimulation vessel
to provide sand control, fracturing, acidizing and pumping services
and products for its Campos Basin development offshore Brazil.
The contract is for two years with an option for a two additional
years.
"We are very pleased with the confidence that Petrobras has
shown through this award in Halliburton's ability to deliver appropriate
technologies and service quality that results in the highest value,"
said David King, Halliburton's Production Optimisation leader.
Halliburton has been providing well services to operators in Brazil
for over 45 years and has had a strong presence in the discovery
and development of several important fields, including the Campos
Basin that now accounts for approximately 80 percent of Brazil's
oil production.

region to achieve ISO 14001 and OHSA 18001 health, safety and environment
accreditation certifications for all product service lines provided
through its Macae facility.
Roberto Munoz, Halliburton's Latin America South region leader,
said, "Through this contract, Petrobras will have access to
a single source supplier for sand control and stimulation solutions
that includes engineering, high quality stimulation equipment, fluids
and completion equipment."

with 17,500 hydraulic horsepower designed to meet the demands of
the Brazilian market This vessel will be equipped with the latest
technology including level two dynamic positioning and will be able
to deliver unsurpassed well productivity solutions.
According to Saul Plavnik, strategic marketing leader for Latin
America South, "Most of the oil produced in this area comes
from very unconsolidated sand that needs sophisticated sand control
and stimulation methods. We will apply technologies that add real
value like SeaQuest® service, a new seawater-based fluid system
that incorporates the latest environmental advances. We will also
apply PoroFlex® expandable screens and N-FlowSM AO service which
can really help improve production from horizontal sand control
completions In addition, we will use our patented SurgiFracSM process
which enables Petrobras to effectively stimulate horizontal wellbores."
