Expanding ME market drives automated management

Jebel Ali Industrial Zone Company secures more reliable
services, transparent costing & competitive pricing through
ACCPAC Advantage Series Project and Job Costing application
Lionweld Kennedy Middle East LLC, a joint venture with the local
DUTCO Group of Companies, leaders in the industrial manufacturing
sector, announced the implementation of a new management solution
that will automate the company’s costing and time tracking
systems, in a move to enhance efficiency and customer service in
the fast-expanding Middle East market.
The project, completed by Systronics LLC, a Dubai-based ACCPAC
Solution Provider, involved the installation of ACCPAC Advantage
Series business management applications, including the new ACCPAC
Project & Job Costing module.
Zareh Tutunjian, general manager, Systronics, explains that for
a company whose core business is derived from projects and contracts,
the ACCPAC Project & Job Costing module, in conjunction with
the ACCPAC Advantage Series accounting system, provides a highly-efficient
cost control system through which both senior management and the
accounting department gain access to a clear, detailed analysis
of the company’s financial information.
“The module also allows the organisation to apply a unified
time tracking system across the company and therefore calculate
the HR usage per job. So, not only does it create financial transparency,
it becomes a tool for allocating human resources effectively.”
The most prominent outcome of implementing the ACCPAC Project &
Job Costing module is that business transactions become transparent
in every way, says Mohan Menon, Finance Manager, Lionweld Kennedy
ME. “The company previously had a number of issues with the
payroll system and project costing. We are very pleased with this
migration to an automated system, across a network, that allows
the management to monitor all sales and the deliverables on a project
on a daily basis. With the ACCPAC Project & Job Costing module
integrated with our ACCPAC Advantage Series accounting system, we
are now able to provide our customers with live invoicing with the
delivery of each order. All the issues we had previously with our
employees’ timesheets, project costing and so forth are now
resolved.”
Tutunjian continues: “The staff at Lionweld Kennedy can now
create a project or a contract with all the estimated costs. Then
once the actual costs are obtained, a comparison can be made at
the click of a button to calculate the profitability of a certain
project. The ACCPAC Project & Job Costing module is of primary
significance for monitoring costs, fees, profits and losses. Overall,
the application becomes a tangible value-add to the organisation.”
Marc Van der Ven, ACCPAC Middle East general manager, ends: “The
industrial sector in the region is booming and is highly competitive.
Manufacturers are increasingly in need of an automated, efficient
cost control system to manage their projects and monitor their profitability.
With companies such as Lionweld Kennedy Middle East LLC adapting
this new application so quickly, we see a strong indicator of the
potential for ACCPAC Project and Job Costing throughout the Middle
East.”
