Co-hosted by Intel, int@j and AE-ReSolutions, seminar in
Jordan introduces Intel’s latest developer initiative, providing
state of the art services to support the growth of the regional
software industry
Intel Corporation, together with int@j and AE-ReSolutions today
concluded the first of a series of seminars designed to spread awareness
about Intel’s developer services within the regional software
development community.
The seminar, titled “Introductory session to Intel Software
Development Products” is part of an ongoing collaboration
between Intel and AE-resolutions, where the latter has been trained
to provide hands on support to regional developers, enabling them
to optimize their software applications to work with Intel’s
state of the art computing platforms.
The seminar was attended by independent software manufacturers,
in addition to corporate developers and representatives of Jordan’s
education sector.
‘Intel’s developer services allow software makers to
use Intel's latest technologies and resources to enhance the transfer
of knowledge, improve their products and enlarge their market’
said Toni Prince, Intel’s Business Development Manager for
Telecommunications and ISPs, “As the software industry grows
in the Middle East, it has become essential for us to collaborate
with regional players to guarantee that all developers are aware
of the hands on services, training and support that we can provide
to them in order to ensure that their products are ready to run
on the latest and most advanced computing platforms of the region.
By working with AE-ReSolutions, we can now help local developers
optimize their applications for the Intel platform.’
This seminar will be followed by more workshops at the Intel I-lab
at the Jordan University, where developers will be able to experiment
in depth with Intel’s software tools such as compilers and
tuning analyzers, using the different Intel platforms available
(Pentium 4, Intel Xeon and Intel Itanium). More events targeting
the developer community will also be held in Lebanon, Egypt, the
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
“Jordan’s position as a regional center for software
development is strengthening quickly,” said Ra’ed Bilbessi,
CEO of int@j, “Today’s event proves yet again the potential
that the Jordanian ICT market represents in the eyes of regional
and international players. int@j will continue to support such activities
that help foster our local development industry and give our developers
access to the latest technologies, services and initiatives.”
As part of its collaboration with Intel, AE-ReSolutions, a branch
of Al Bawardi Enterprises (AE) and a member of AE Technology Investment
(AETI) group of IT companies will allocate staff to work with developers
on testing and porting their applications onto the latest Intel
computing platforms. Intel’s Early Access Program also entitles
developers to lease state of the art computers as test machines
on a yearly basis.
“Initiatives such as Intel’s developer services program
are highly needed in this fast moving industry,” said Mofeed
Qaffaf Business Development Manager, AE-ReSolutions, “In order
to sell their products, regional developers need to ensure that
these are enabled to work with the latest and greatest technologies.
Intel’s developer services program gives local developers
access to resources and equipment that they would have not necessarily
been able to afford on their own.”
