HP’s Imaging and Printing Group leads Middle East market
Posted: 3 September 2003
HP has announced the third quarter results for its Imaging and
Printing Group (IPG) for the year 2003, securing a 19 per cent increase
in commercial imaging and printing products, and a 35 per cent increase
in total hardware sales.
HP has also overachieved financial targets in the Middle East region
by a record 116 per cent.
HPs Middle East market has been deemed as one of the best performing
over the last few quarters, with no exception in the third quarter
of 2003, as this has provided the best financial results to date
for the region.
This financial achievement has been attributed to the successful
launch in August of a completely new range of Consumer products,
which is reflected in the market growth figures.
“Thanks to loyal customers, a powerful new and extended portfolio
and continued innovation, HP continues to be Number One for imaging
and printing products throughout the Middle East,” said Amr
Hassan, general manager of HP IPG Middle East. “This is an
exceptional position to be in and one that HP intends to hold for
many years to come. We are continually looking at ways to ensure
our customers have the type of responsive technology they need at
their fingertips in business and in leisure, which we hope will
ensue we stay at the top.”
HP's recent unveiling of a 100 new gadgets last month for the consumer
market has been followed by the launch yesterday of a range of innovative
products for businesses, bring vibrant colour printing and imaging
solutions in-house while driving costs down.
This latest suite of colour printing, projection and mobile connectivity
provides customers with the right tools to communicate effectively
whether in a meeting at the office, writing or on the road. Due
to its intuitive use, reliable technology and affordability a number
of the new products are also particularly suited to small and medium
sized businesses.
“Last month we responded to the consumer markets needs, and
this month we are launching an extensive range for our business
customers. Today’s competitive business environment demands
that critical information is relayed to the right customer or colleague
at the right moment.
With HP’s latest colour printers, all business-critical and
marketing documents can be printed in-house, allowing businesses
to save costs on out sourced colour prints and get through to their
customers before their competition does!” concluded Hassan.
HP's IPG business unit includes commercial and consumer imaging
and printing devices, hardware, and publishing systems.
The unit aims to build services capabilities through consulting
and integration, managed services and outsourcing, and break-fix
services, in order to support some of the Group's overall customer
strategies - improving workflow and productivity; helping businesses
become more efficient by enabling business-critical document management;
and helping customers succeed in the marketing collateral space
through new offerings in its commercial digital press line.
