Chinese Company Has Co-operative Agreement With GE Oil
& Gas
Under a five-year cooperative agreement with GE Oil & Gas,
China Aviation Gas Turbine Company Ltd. (CAGT) is packaging GE10-1
gas turbines for industrial power generation in China. The agreement
is built on the technical expertise of GE Oil & Gas in flange-to-flange
turbomachinery products and the broad experience of CAGT in supplying
power packages for cogeneration projects.
"This agreement allows CAGT to widen its range of gas turbines
for the Chinese market that are particularly suitable for industrial
power generation, and also enables us to meet local content requirements,"
said Marco Pucci, marketing & strategic alliances manager, GE
Oil & Gas.
“Our alliance will benefit both partners and our customers.
The sharing of marketing information, techniques and after-sale
service under the agreement will build on the strengths of each
partner and allow us to mutually explore industry opportunities,”
said Yu Peimin, vice president of CAGT.
The GE10-1 is a heavy-duty gas turbine designed and developed
for power generation, including industrial cogeneration. The machine
can burn a variety of fuels, including natural gas, distillate oil
and low BTU fuel. Particular emphasis has been placed on the design
of a Dry Low NOx (DLN) system to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions.
In March, CAGT issued the first purchase order for one GE10-1
engine suitable to burn coke oven gas fuel for the Xu Zhou Power
Station. The packaging of the unit is under way at CAGT facilities
in Shenyang.
China Aviation Gas Turbine Company Ltd. is one of the largest
gas turbine packaging companies in China. It is regarded as a leading
OME and engineering service supplier in China, and also is active
in sheet metal, press, welding, machining, and pressure vessel manufacturing
businesses.
GE Oil & Gas, a unit of GE Power Systems, is headquartered
in Florence, Italy, the home of Nuovo Pignone, a long-time global
leader in gas compression and turbogeneration products. GE acquired
ownership of Nuovo Pignone in 1994 and since then has continued
to expand its oil and gas business by acquiring or developing partnerships
with other technology and experience leaders in the industry.
