New plant design software to be launched at OGS 2003
Posted: 11 September 2003
The Oil and Gas Show (OGS), to be held at the Airport Expo Dubai,
from 12 to 15 October, 2003 will be a focal point for companies
exploring cutting-edge software technologies for the oil and gas
industry. Several new and updated software packages for the industry
will be launched in the Middle East at the show.
"Software technologies for the oil and gas industry are focusing
more and more on reducing the man-hours in labour intensive projects.
Oil and gas companies in the Middle East are also on a constant
lookout for technologies that increase productivity through streamlined
operations," said Anselm Godinho, Managing Director, International
Conferences & Exhibitions (IC&E), organizers of the show.
"At the Oil and Gas Show, we expect the new software packages
to undergo informed analysis by the professionals in the industry.
This should ease the process of introducing new software technologies
into the sector."
ImageGrafix, a leading developer and distributor in the UAE of
software solutions for the oil and gas industry will be launching
CADWorx 2004 Plant Design Software, AutoCAD Mechanical 2004, the
INVENTOR 7 and the CAESAR II Pipe Stress Analysis Software version
4.50.
CADWorx 2004 is an enhanced version of COADE's AutoCAD-based software
suite for plant design. CADWorx 2004 will be fully compatible with
the 2004 versions of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Mechanical released by
Autodesk in March 2003.
The 2004 version of CADWorx is easier to use and learn, even for
beginners, than the existing 2002 version. The 2004 version also
allows for a large increase in the size of plant models that can
be worked upon simultaneously by teams of designers. The new software
has reduced file sizes, faster load and save times and improved
management of external references, all of which contribute to an
improvement in performance and in functionality. The CADWorx 2004
also includes the new CADWorx Equipment module that is a parametric
equipment modeller with the features required for creating 3D equipment
models for plant design.
The launch of the software will be accompanied by a presentation
by the company representatives on the software and the enhancements
in the new version. Just prior to the show, ImageGrafix will also
organise a five day training seminar for industry professionals
on the CAESAR II Pipe Stress Analysis software to be exhibited at
the OGS.
"In the current scenario of reconstruction in the Iraqi oil
and gas sector, the software solutions to be launched at the Oil
and Gas Show have the potential to speed up the repair and reconstruction
of existing production facilities, enhance productivity and streamline
operations," said Amir M. Heshmati, Managing Director, ImageGrafix.
"The software majors around the world have kept abreast with
the oil and gas industry's demand for improved software technologies
and numerous new software packages, targeted at the oil and gas
industry, are entering the market. The Oil and Gas show will provide
the end-users with the much needed platform to explore the capabilities
of these software packages, while at the same time updating software
companies of the current needs of the industry."
QGM Energy, which has recently set-up a new facility at Hamriyah
Free Zone, for the inspection, repair and maintenance of offshore
drilling, production and accommodation units, will also be presenting
their entire portfolio of products and project management consultancy
services. The QGM Plant Design services showcase the Rebis software
product line that includes isometrics, auto design and structural
3D software.
