NWG Group's new engineering services business manager

UWG Group has appointed Alan MacKenzie to fulfil the role of Engineering
Services Business Manager as of 18 August 2003.
Alan, who will be based in Norwich, joins the Company from Baker
Oil Tools — part of the Baker Hughes Group.
Alan, a graduate of Robert Gordons University in Aberdeen, joined
Baker Oil Tools in 1981 and has since enjoyed positions in design
engineering, international operations and marketing and worldwide
responsibility in product development.
Most recently, Alan has been involved in Intelligent Well design
for Eastern Hemisphere applications. Alan has been awarded patents
in under-balanced completions, multilateral drilling and completions
and in expandable technologies and has published technical papers.
He brings to UWG Group a wealth of engineering and product experience
having worked with many organisations throughout the world.
Alan will report to Kevin Burton, Managing Director of UWG Group¹s
Well Systems Engineering Division. The Well Systems Engineering
Division has all the skills and the experience operators need to
access wells efficiently via mobile rigs and fixed platforms.
With teams of project engineers who are thoroughly versed in all
aspects of system design, fabrication and installation, UWG provides
a single point of delivery for a comprehensive suite of integrated
services.
Alan will be responsible for heading up and developing the Bespoke
Equipment and Studies, Design and Procurement teams and a new Product
Development arm for the company.

out there for us. We intend to develop innovative solutions based
on the core abilities of UWG to address the challenges facing the
