announces regional restructure

Intel Corporation has restructured its operations to reflect the
growth and development of its business in the region.
The Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), headquartered in
Dubai, has now expanded to cover the entirety of the Middle East
and Turkey, in addition to the African continent, with the key regional
offices being in Dubai, Istanbul, Riyadh, Cairo and Johannesburg.
A number of new appointments have been introduced to provide the
management structure that will support this new organization.
Gilbert Lacroix will take the newly formed role of President, Middle
East and North Africa, and will lead Intel’s government relations,
working with the various leaderships in the region to provide effective
support for public IT initiatives and the spread of the Internet.
Lacroix previously held the position of Country Manager for Intel
in the Middle East and North Africa, and with more than 16 years
experience in the region, has developed a strong understanding of
the region’s culture and IT environment.
Rod O’Shea has just has been appointed as Regional Director
for the Middle East Turkey and Africa, based in Dubai and will jointly
manage the newly formed region with Lacroix, where he has overall
responsibility for developing Intel’s business and ensuring
that the company has a detailed understanding of the various markets
that constitute the new region.
Prior to this appointment, O’Shea was EMEA Enterprise Business
Manager responsible for Intel’s strategy and direction for
corporate business and corporate enabling accounts in Europe, the
Middle East and Africa.

ensure the availability of the expert resources that enable us to
consolidate our areas of strength and grow our business,”
said Dave King, Regional Director of Intel Europe, the Middle East
and Africa. “We believe that this region has significant potential
for growth, and as such focus on it is higher than ever before.”
