COADE
to release CAESAR II Pipe Stress Analysis Version 4.50 in the Middle
East
Posted: 23 September 2003
COADE announced the latest release of COADE’s CAESAR II Pipe
Stress Analysis software, Version 4.50.
CAESAR II is a complete pipe stress analysis software program that
allows quick and accurate analysis of piping systems subjected to
weight, pressure, thermal, seismic and other static and dynamic
loads.
It can analyze piping systems of any size or complexity. This new
version incorporates many new capabilities with both technical and
operational additions to the software including a revised material
database incorporating the latest changes from the A2002 addendum
of B31.1. These changes include a reclassification of some materials,
revised expansion coefficients for most materials and an updated
value for Poisson’s ratio.
CAESAR II Version 4.50 adds a material database "cross checker"
that helps ensure data consistency. When an existing job file is
opened, CAESAR II checks to see if the material data in the job
differs from the data in the material database. If there is a difference,
the user is alerted and given the option to either keep or update
the material data in the job file.
CAESAR II now incorporates a reducer element that makes computing
associated values faster and easier. The reducer element will internally
account for the gradual change of diameter and wall thickness along
the element length. Depending on the active piping code, the appropriate
SIF will be computed. If the values for the second diameter and
thickness are left blank, CAESAR II will acquire these values from
the following element.
CAESAR II Version 4.50 introduces “dynamic” HTML help.
CAESAR II has always provided context sensitive, online help, displaying
units' labels and numeric constants according to the active units
file. In moving to today's HTML help, Version 4.50 goes beyond typical
fixed HTML code and makes it units sensitive. As always, CAESAR
II incorporates revisions resulting from changes in industry codes
and standards addressed by the software. These include B31.4, ASME
NC, ASME ND, IGE/TD/12, and API-610.
The structural steel input module has been redesigned for easier
operation. The new input module splits the window into two panes,
one for the data definition and one for the resulting model graphics.
The data definition pane functions in a tree-like hierarchy, which
can be expanded or collapsed as needed.
Several new Wizards have been incorporated into the software for
easier and faster input and analyses. New Wizards lead the user
through the steps necessary to initiate a new piping or structural
steel input. The Seismic Wizard assists in generating earthquake
spectra according to a number of international standards.
