Aquablast
Middle East new concept in UHP waterblasting technology
Posted: 27 September 2003
Aquablast Middle East , the High Pressure and Ultra High Pressure
water Jetting specialist company based in Dubai has introduced a
new concept in to the Middle East in UHP waterblasting technology.
Aquablasts new 55000 psi water blasting pump technology enables
blast contractors to blast up to twice as fast as what is currently
available to them in the market within the Middle and Far East.
The Aquablast twin gun systems utilise 8 liters of water per minute
per gun at 3800 bar. On tests carried out on a 700 micron two coat
epoxy painted surface, the blaster was able to produce 16 meters
of blasted surface per hour to a water jet equivalent of that of
SA.2.5.
This means that one pump operating the twin gun system can blast
upto 32 square meters an hour. These rates are currently 4 times
faster than dry blasting and three times that of 40'000 psi water
blasting.
Due to the low flow and higher pressure output , water blasters
are able to blast longer without suffering fatigue. With the added
bonus of using the Aquablast Stripper Gun II, the lightest gun available
today in the market, the man hour down time is greatly reduced.
The benefits of utilising Aquablasts environmentally friendly UHP
water blasting technology over that of dry grit media blasting is
no grit purchase, no grit clean up and disposal cost, allowing other
trades to carry on work in the surrounding blast vicinity, and the
elimination of breathing apparatus requirement for the blaster.
