Statoil hosting national oil companies
Posted: 10 October 2003
This year's forum for national oil companies (NOCs) is being hosted
by Statoil in Stavanger from 15-17 October, with 12 delegations
due to attend.
First staged last year, the forum then took place in Algeria with
Sonatrach as host. Plans originally called for the second meeting
to be held in Beijing, but that was changed in the spring.
The aim is to create a venue where representatives from national
oil companies can get together in an open atmosphere and discuss
matters of common interest.
This year's agenda includes relations between national and international
oil companies, management of national resources and gas market developments.
The forum will be held at the IMI conference centre in Stavanger,
with the official opening performed by petroleum and energy minister
Einar Steensnæs.
