Nimir opens speciality chemicals plant in UAE

International industrial chemicals giant, Nimir Chemicals Company
Limited (NCCL), inaugurated a first-of-a-kind speciality industrial
chemicals plant at the Emirate of Sharjah’s Hamriyah Free
Zone.
The inauguration of the 10,000 square meter facility, named Nimir
Speciality Chemicals (NSC), was attended by senior executives and
board of directors of Nimir Chemicals as well as officials of Hamriyah
Free Zone Authority.
The NSC chemical plant will cater to the industrial chemical needs
of the GCC states as well as the European Union, South Asia, Africa
and Far East/ASEAN industrial centres.
It is seen as a strategic investment that will benefit from the
competitive advantage provided by a gateway base coupled with the
high quality of staff available in the Emirates.
“Our plant will begin operations with 50 employees and has
been designed with state-of-the-art features to enhance both production
procedures and environmental safety. We will be the region’s
unique, integrated manufacturer of unsaturated polyester resins
(UPR) for the fibreglass industry, textile processing chemicals
(preparation, printing, coloration, and finishing) for the textile
industry plus polymer emulsions and specialities for the paint industry,”
noted Chris McNulty, CEO of NSC.
NSC envisions a growth in its market sector and has already acquired
10,000 sq. m of adjacent land for future expansion at the Free Zone.
“This is a vertical expansion investment for Nimir Chemicals
that will allow us to benefit from existing customer/supplier networks
and our proximity to regional customers. With this high tech investment
in chemical production we aim to offer highly competitive products,
support and research development that can efficiently supply regional
clients much quicker and effectively than competitors.” added
McNulty.
NSC believes that it is uniquely positioned in the market with
its strong backing from the parent company, customer knowledge,
just in time delivery system and Gulf based strategic location between
Asia and Europe.
