Bunkering & shipping experts to attend Fujairah meet

The Third International Fujairah Bunkering and Fuel Oil Forum (FUJCON 2003) from October 20-22 2003 at the Al Diar Siji Hotel, Fujairah, UAE

The UAE Minister for Petroleum and Mineral Resources, His Excellency Obaid Bin Saif Al Nasseri, will officiate at the opening of The Third International Fujairah Bunkering & Fuel Oil Forum (FUJCON 2003) and present the Ministerial Address.

More than 200 delegates from 20 countries, comprising major bunker/fuel oil producers, traders, refiners, ship owners/brokers, port authorities, government officials, banks, international maritime organisations, supply & service companies, classification societies and legal specialists are expected to attend The Third International Fujairah Bunkering and Fuel Oil Forum (FUJCON 2003) from October 20-22 2003 at The Al Diar Siji Hotel, Fujairah, UAE.

FUJCON 2003 which is widely regarded as the region’s premier bunkering event, draws participants from other bunkering centers such as Singapore and Rotterdam, with Fujairah being seen as a convenient location to pursue business from the East and West and to assess first hand, opportunities in the fast growing UAE markets, which account for 61% of bunker volumes in the region and developments that affect the markets both locally and internationally.

The 2003 Forum is held as part of Fujairah Bunkering Week under the auspices of the Government of Fujairah, with the Patronage of His Highness, Sheikh Hamad bin Mohamed Al Sharqi, Member of the UAE Supreme Council and Ruler of Fujairah, and the support of the International Bunker Industry Association and the UAE National Ship Suppliers Association.

Being held alongside the conference are several specialised courses on “Fuel Oil Blending” and “Port State Control”, which have drawn port authorities and technical specialists from the region including Oman, Saqr, Egypt, Fujairah, Kuwait and Djibouti.

Being hosted by the Government of Fujairah for the third time as part of a successful on-going series of events, Dr Mohammed Saeed Al Kindi, Director of Ruler’s Office, Emiri Court Fujairah said “It gives me great pleasure to host such a big event which has been very successful for the last two years. This conference has enabled the Fujairah Emirate as a whole and the bunkering industry in particular to play a pivotal part in the global bunkering industry.”
