BJ PPS appoints Martyn Bates regional business unit manager for
USA, Mexico and Latin America

BJ Process and Pipeline Services has appointed Martyn Bates to
the position of Regional Business Unit Manager – USA, Mexico
and Latin America.
In his new role, Bates 43, oversees all financial and operations
management for the division in these regions. He is responsible
for driving BJ PPS business development efforts, and maintaining
existing relationships with clients operating throughout the region,
with emphasis on the Gulf of Mexico, Rockies, Alaska and the American
Midwest, along with international business in Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela,
Argentina and Peru.
With over 13 years experience in the process and pipeline industry,
Bates launched his career in 1990 in Leeds, England with Nowsco
Industrial Services. He worked in a variety of sales, engineering
and operational roles until BJ PPS acquired the company in 1996.
Throughout the course of his career with BJ PPS, he has worked
in a range of operations and general management roles in the U.K.,
Canada and the USA specialising in process and pipeline services.
A native of Halifax, West Yorkshire, Bates studied Mechanical Engineering
in Halifax and graduated from the Banff School of Advanced Management
in Alberta, Canada. He is permanently based in Houston, and reports
directly to John Adams, General Manager for BJ PPS.

knowledge of the pipeline and process industry, he was the ideal
