WesternGeco signs agreement with KOC for Q-Reservoir project in
Kuwait
Posted: 4 November 2003
WesternGeco announced today that it has signed an agreement with
the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for a comprehensive Q-Reservoir* project
in Kuwait. The project, which includes Q-Land* seismic acquisition,
processing, and interpretation, will begin early November and is
expected to be complete by spring, 2004.
KOC selected Q-Reservoir after a joint study with WesternGeco indicted
that the technology showed great potential for resolving some of
the geophysical challenges that remain unsolved with conventional
technologies. Q-Technology utilizes the most advanced fully digital
technology to provide the highest resolution seismic data for hydrocarbon
exploration, development, and production purposes.
WesternGeco, a joint venture between Schlumberger and Baker Hughes,
is a leader in integrated exploration and reservoir imaging services,
providing worldwide seismic acquisition, processing, and multiclient
surveys.
