PRO-CAD Software releases 2D DESIGNER V2004

PRO-CAD 2D DESIGNER V2004 includes AutoFLOW, AutoORTHO, AutoISO,
Piping Suite and AutoELECTRIC applications.
The new release builds on the product's already powerful features
— spec driven, parametric drafting, robust material management
tools and ease-of-use.
As result of an extensive development effort, the V2004 release
includes new features and functionality based on user feedback and
PRO-CAD's commitment to continue enhancing the 2D product line.
The new improvements are designed to improve all aspects of piping
and electrical drafting efficiency.
The new features of the V2004 release include new functionality
and management tools that are intended to improve installation setup,
project data management and material list generation.
The Project Manager is designed to allow companies to control project
settings by assigning each project with its own specific piping
specs, layering conventions, border drawings and line numbers. As
well, the user can set the general drafting settings for that project.
When a project is configured, the Project Manager creates a directory
structure to store the projects' drawings according to their type.
The Project Manager greatly enhances your organization's ability
to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The new Bill of Material (BOM) Generator gives the user control
over the look and format of the output of material lists. User can
organize similar component types into groups and then define what
fields they want for that group. They can adjust the sorting, numbering,
font and number format before saving these settings for that specific
project. User can create the BOM for an entire project or by a particular
drawings or line numbers.
The output of the BOM can be extracted in many different formats:
web page HTML format, spreadsheet CSV file format, text tab file,
or it can be inserted into an AutoCAD drawing. The new BOM Generator
will give user material reporting capabilities that are powerful
and flexible.
Expanded Installation and Licensing Options: The new applications
can be installed to run on a network server, or on a standalone
computer. This feature gives companies with a large number of seats
the option to install the program on a network drive, so when new
updates are needed, they only have to be installed once on a single
computer. This new flexibility helps IT personnel to determine the
most effective way to manage and service the software.
