GCC Power 2003 Conference and Exhibition

HE Suhail bin Mustahail Shamas, Minister of Housing, Electricity
and Water, Oman, welcomes participants to the forthcoming GCC Power
2003 exhibition and conference on 8-10 December 2003 in Muscat.
The foremost exhibition for power and electrical companies in the
Gulf region, GCC Power has great advantages for participants. The
exhibition is the only event that has the full support of the respective
Ministries of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the
United Arab Emirates. The importance of GCC Power is further emphasised

The exhibition will run alongside a major international conference,
which will explore in detail the many challenges facing the electricity
industry in the GCC today.
Speakers will be from the GCC Ministries together with companies
such as Dolphin Energy, Kahramaa, CMS Energy, Electricite de France,
Tractebel and National Grid will discuss strategies for securing
investment to meet demand, the changing role of the private sector
across the region, the application of regulatory models in the GCC,
progress in the GCC Grid project and the impact of risk on new power
developments.
The unequivocal support of the GCC Regional Committee for Large
Electric Systems (GCC Cigre), which is inviting high profile delegations
and key players from each GCC member country, will ensure that GCC
Power 2003 achieves its objectives of providing the power and electricity
industry with an effective commercial and strategic platform that
