New appointment for Paradigm

Posted: 3 December 2003

Paradigm, the premier provider of advanced petroleumgeoscience and drilling engineering technology to the oil and gas exploration and production industry, appointed Chris Usher to the position of Senior Corporate Vice- President, Integrated Services.

Mr. Usher’s appointment reinforces Paradigm’s intention to continue expanding its presence in this important market segment. Chris Usher joins Paradigm with a wealth of experience in the oil and gas exploration and production service industry.

His work over the past 20 years has focused on the data processing market. As a geophysical expert, Mr. Usher is intimately familiar with the oil and gas service industry, and the technologies that support the timely and accurate delivery of service project results.

Elie Barr, President and COO of Paradigm, said, “Paradigm sees its Service business as a key part of its solutions portfolio. Chris’ appointment further emphasizes our focus on this market segment, and our intention to increase the breadth of the service projects which we offer to our clients. I am pleased to welcome Chris to Paradigm and to the challenging task of managing our global integrated services. We believe that his knowledge and experience in growing a processing business as well as his understanding of how technology is gainfully employed in this business, will enable him to make measurable market inroads for our Integrated Services Division.”

In describing his new role at Paradigm, Mr. Usher said, “Ultimately, success is about communication and teamwork, and taking advantage of the substantial talent we have at Paradigm. I believe Paradigm has a unique market position, with a business model that encompasses synergies between software sales, customer support and integrated services. In an era when other firms are cutting back on their investment in R&D, Paradigm has put its money behind serious technology development, which provides leverage for our integrated services.”
