PetrisWINDS
NOW! to provide process simulation software applications via the
internet
SimSci-Esscor, an operating unit of Invensys, announced today it
will provide solutions from its Upstream Optimization Suite and
its Process Engineering Suite (PES) via the Internet. These products
will be offered on a monthly trial and subscription basis via PetrisWINDS
NOW!, a premier application services provider (ASP) to the oil &
gas and energy industries.
“The alliance with Petris provides our user community of
process, facility, reservoir and production engineers with an innovative
and time-efficient way to access SimSci-Esscor software,”
said Marty Kurowski, Vice President of Marketing for SimSci-Esscor.
“This simple means of distribution will also help us reach
a much broader market.”
SimSci-Esscor's upstream optimization suite combines the modeling
needs of the upstream sector with the company’s simulation
and optimization expertise to deliver best-in-class solutions to
oil and gas asset management problems. PES improves engineering
productivity and increases plant profitability through process engineering
design and operational analysis.
Engineers can now have immediate access to these process simulation
applications with only one PetrisWINDS NOW! contract. These Web-based
applications can help reduce the internal support requirements and
significantly extend the life of existing hardware. The low-entry
pricing structure also helps to reduce a company’s capital
expenditures and makes using these products a part of a more efficient
operational process. In making these programs available via the
Internet, engineering and producing companies also can benefit by
having anywhere, anytime access to critical information.
SimSci-Esscor joins a growing list of best-in-class independent
software vendors offering their software to the energy industry
through PetrisWINDS NOW! This Web-based work environment features
vendor neutral, on-demand software to meet the different business
needs of a user organization. Petris can provide ASP services via
the Internet or create and manage a similar solution behind a company’s
firewall.
“The process simulation applications that SimSci-Esscor provides
greatly enhance the solution set we can provide our clients,”
says Jim Pritchett, Petris CEO. “SimSci-Esscor is an excellent
complement to our growing body of software and services offered
to the energy industry. Their software will benefit production technologists
and reservoir planning engineers or those working in process engineering
and pipeline design by helping them perform with greater efficiency
and significantly lower costs.”
SimSci-Esscor, an operating unit of Invensys, is a leader in the
development and deployment of industrial process simulation software
and systems for a variety of industries, including oil and gas production,
petroleum refining, petrochemical and chemical manufacturing, electrical
power generation, mining, pulp and paper, and engineering and construction.
