EPPCO Aviation first for quality
Posted: 15 December 2003
EPPCO AVIATION has been awarded the highest industry accolade
for its quality management system (QMS) — ISO 9001:2000 certification,
during a ceremony at the Dubai Air Show — Dubai 2003.
The certification, based on independent review by Lloyds Register
of Quality Assurance, (LRQA) was presented for the fuel suppliers’
QMS at Fujairah International Airport.
“This industry recognition is part of our continuing goal
to achieve excellence throughout all of EPPCO Aviation’s airport
refueling operations,” said Hussain Sultan, ENOC Group Chief
Executive and Board Member.
EPPCO Aviation provides world-class fuel to more than 80 per cent
of the traffic at Fujairah Airport and 40 per cent at Dubai International
Airport.
Sultan added: “We achieved ISO certification for Dubai Airport
in May, and this further step means our operations throughout the
UAE consistently comply with the highest quality standards that
our customers demand.”
The award was presented to EPPCO’s Chief Operating Officer
Zaid Alqufaidi at a ceremony during the Dubai Air Show which was
also attended by Mr. Khalid Al-Mazroui, General Manager Fujairah
International Airport and Mr. Roy Calver, QMS and Aerospace Lead
Auditor, LRQA.
EPPCO is the only aviation fuel supplier to comply with the ISO
9001:2000 standard at both Fujairah and Dubai International Airports.
In addition, EPPCO’s fuel storage, pipelines and distribution
facilities in Jebel Ali are operated to the same demanding criteria,
assuring quality in the complete supply chain.
Operations in Fujairah were expanded to support the growth strategy
of the Government of Fujairah both within the international airport
and the Port of Fujairah.
“During a week when the best aircraft in the world were on
display in Dubai the quality of fuel supplied 24 hours a day, 365
days a year, was hardly mentioned” said Sultan, adding: “But
the fact that we take its quality for granted is a great testament
to the people and systems used to deliver it.”
EPPCO strives for operational excellence throughout all its business
activities and is continually working to improve its products and
services regardless of whether they are used by the world’s
best airlines or the motorists of the UAE, in order to become the
Energy Partner of Choice.
