Project Scope
The project calls for the revamp and extension of the medium crude processing facilities at GC 28. The scheme is aimed at handling an additional 40,000 barrels a day (b/d) of crude at GC 28, which is located at the Minagish field and has nameplate capacity of about 200,000b/d.
Schedule
The six pre-qualified EPC companies attended a pre-tender meeting on 12th Jan’ 2004. Bids were due to be submitted for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract on 22nd Feb ‘2004. Bid submission date extended to 28th March 2004. Bid submission date was extended once again till the end of April 2004.
Bid submission date got extended till 23rd May 2004. Bid submission date was extended once again till 27th June 2004. Bid submission was extended for the 5th time to 18th July 2004. Spain’s Tecnicas Reunidas submitted the lowest bids at $97 million. Tecnicas Reunidas was awarded the EPC contract in December 2004.
